Story

Homage to the lips of Mme. Pompadour has brought the marquise shape. This navette form is similar to the oblong but is more pointed with boat-like curved sides.

This configuration does justice to a circa 1940 18k white gold ring embellished with details across the entire surface. Centermost is an old cushion cut diamond of .18 carats (K-L color yet reads white and shimmering; SI2 with only clear inclusions) which due to its specific cut appears greater in carat weight.

In addition, interspersed among incised chevrons, filigree and leaf patterns are three (3) transitional cut and three (3) single cut diamonds with a range of H-I color and VS2-SI clarity. In all, the ring has a total diamond weight of .55 carats.

Date: Circa 1940.
