Story

Placement of the diamonds in the setting can be critical. The “right” positioning can display the central gem to its best advantage or the manner in which the array of diamonds have been set. Such is the consideration for this ring of 18k white gold in which the diamonds, especially the centered one visually appear much larger than their stated weight.

The old mine cut diamond in the center has a carat weight of approximately .14 carats yet appears greater in size due to the not only the arrangement of the additional sixteen (16) single cut diamonds which brings the total estimated weight for the ring to .37 carats. All the diamonds are white and bright and have an average color of J-K. The oval shape setting of pierced and open work gold provides as much light as possible to refract and reflect from the facets of the beautiful diamonds.

Date: Circa 1930.
