Story

Blossoms of the dogwood tree flourish in an earring of 14k yellow gold. The palest of pink, green and yellow enamel coat the surface. Details are rendered realistically even down to the minute veining across the petal surfaces. Gold stamens glisten with a diamond of about .05 carats (one old mine and one old European cut) centered.

Date: Circa 1900.

THE FINE PRINT

Due to the nature of antique & vintage jewelry, many diamond and gemstone weights are calculated by measurements, not removed. Actual weights are noted in the item’s description. Grading of diamonds and gemstones may vary slightly when removed.

HONESTY

Being as honest as possible about the items we represent for sale is our ultimate goal! Our pricing is industry recognized as fair and equitable with value as the byword.

Measurements: Just shy of 1 inch (2.3 cm) in length including ear wire and 3/4 of an inch (1.9 cm) without by 3/4 of an inch (1.9 cm) in width. Weight of 6.6 grams (4.2 dwt) for the pair.

Condition: Excellent; flowers and enamel are fine; one diamond with a tiny edge chip visible with a loupe; later ear wires and trace amounts of silver solder where back was reinforced in a few areas – all visible with magnification or upon very close inspection.

Note: Diamonds were not removed to preserve the integrity of the setting. Weights are approximated by measurement and formula and may vary from actual weights.
