Story

We are familiar with the quote “Rose is a rose is a rose” by Gertrude Stein. Often misinterpreted, as a thing is what it is, in actuality Ms. Stein wished to convey that as memory takes over, a “thing” or an idea loses its identity, and she was attempting to recover that identity with that phrase.

No matter what the grand mistress of the word had to say because is this circa 1890 cluster ring of 10k rose gold is exactly what it used to be, what it is and what it will remain. Classic in its floral configuration, a rose cut diamond of an estimated .40 carats is centered within an open work cluster with an eight (8) diamond surround of coronet mounted rose cut diamonds with a total estimated weight of .10 carats. Split shoulders with a gentle curve segue into a silken shank accented with vertical banded details.

Date: Circa 1890.
