Story

When one hears the word sapphire in relation to precious gems, one immediately has a vision of a blue stone. Although that association is quite valid, blue is not the only color. In fact, the stone in its natural state (not heat treated) comes in an array of hues and is referred to as fancy sapphires – yellow, green, pink, orange, brown and lavender.

This Victorian era finger ring of 10k rose gold features a marvelous natural lavender sapphire of an estimated .60 carats. A sparking mouthwatering color, the oval faceted stone is flanked by two (2) round faceted emeralds of an approximate .20 carats total weight all in a horizontal profile. Like small floodlights scattered symmetrically across the expanse of a theatre stage of rose gold are eight transitional and single cut diamonds with a total diamond weight of .40 carats. The perimeter of the ring is accented with modified pinched scalloped edges.

Date: Circa 1880.
