Story

For the wealthy, life was full of leisure time activities. The Victorian gentleman typically grew up with the traditions of shooting and hunting. Hunting wild boar and shooting grouse and pheasant was the domain of privilege and patronage. Always in service to the country gentleman was a sporting or gundog. Retrievers, setters, pointers and spaniels were all specialists for the field for a variety of jobs such as flushing or springing out game or tracking.

Here is an example of a fob which such a gentleman might sport on a chain along with his watch. A charming 9k rose gold fob seal with marvelous engraved detailing is set with a carnelian base. The hard stone features a hand carved intaglio of a sporting dog in grass frozen in a pointing stance with its muzzle aimed towards the quarry. Always equated with loyalty and faithfulness, this canine will serve you well.
