Story

Striking with its clean and streamlined appearance across the finger, this Art Deco ring of platinum shows off a sensational deep blue sapphire. Employing one of the cardinal tenets of that “modern” style, the gem is cut in a very unusual geometric shape similar to that of an hourglass yet still maintains a four sided configuration.

Situated on both flanks of the blue beauty are a pair of old European cut diamonds, each about .30 and .33 carats (I-J color; SI1 clarity). The diamonds pale pinkish-brown hue is a delightful mink shade when viewed closely. When worn the eyes perceives both diamonds as well matched. The exquisite old platinum mount is well suited to the period ring with its intricate geometric forms.

Date: Circa 1925.
