Story

Most of us are probably familiar with the 17th century English nursery rhyme and folk song “Lavender Blue”. Well, this 20th century Art Deco ring of 14k white gold could also be the subject of a tale which sings its praises. A magnificent 2.2 carat (estimated) Ceylon sapphire shines with an unanticipated color – that of lavender periwinkle. Wonderfully claw set, the voluptuous gem is framed with a surround of leaf forms set with twenty-four (24) old single cut diamonds with a total estimated diamond weight of .20 carats. The pierced and open work under gallery sends rays of light reflected and refracted from the facet of the gemstones.

Date: Circa 1920.
