Bejeweled January Sale! Price reduced from $5450. Hurry sale ends January 18th!

For the Victorians the garnet was one of the more favored gems. Ever romantic and symbolic, this stone was used to symbolize fidelity. Here the prized garnet is cut en cabochon and represented in a pendant locket of 15k yellow gold and silver. Four unusually shaped garnet cabochon petals surround a centered old mine cut diamond in a modified lozenge setting. Both the edges and bale are embellished with twenty-nine (29) rose cut diamonds bringing the total estimated diamond weight for the piece to .25 carats. All of the diamonds have been set into silver to enhance their brilliance. In addition to the rose cut diamond, the original bale features a dew drop shaped garnet cabochon. A drop of two (2) cultured pearls balances the symmetry and harmonizes the pendant.

The reverse reveals a sculptured gold back with a glass covered locket compartment. Currently within the compartment is a swatch of fabric. If so desired, a jeweler can remove the glass and the fabric can be removed and replaced with a photograph or curl of hair.

THE FINE PRINT

Due to the nature of antique & vintage jewelry, many diamond and gemstone weights are calculated by measurements, not removed. Actual weights are noted in the item's description. Grading of diamonds and gemstones may vary slightly when removed.

HONESTY

Being as honest as possible about the items we represent for sale is our ultimate goal! Our pricing is industry recognized as fair and equitable with value as the byword.

Measurements: 1-5/8 inches (4.1 cm) in length by 7/8 of an inch (2.3 cm) at the widest. Weight of 9.6 grams (6.1 dwt).

Condition: Excellent; light wear to a few areas of the cabochons visible upon very close inspection or with a loupe; pearls are most likely replaced. Fabric in locket compartment may have paper underneath which could have flaked onto fabric — all of which can easily be removed by a jeweler or we can have our jeweler do this for you.

Note: Diamonds have not been removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting. All diamond weights have been approximated by measurement and formula and may vary from actual weights.
