Story

Jewelry made during the Georgian era carries a certain panache. Perhaps it is the warmth of antique gold against the fire and glow of gemstones which have been “witness” to the passage of many decades. Conjecture aside, once you gaze upon this late Georgian floral cluster ring of 18k yellow gold you will have the answer.

Six (6) beautiful rectangular cut old natural emeralds with fine coloration have been placed in delicately rubbed over collets to create a floral petal array surrounding a centered old mine cut diamond. The shoulders of the carefully crafted and patterned hoop are adorned with two (2) additional old mine cut diamonds for an estimated total diamond weight of .24 carats. The embellished shank is all original to the ring.

Date: Circa 1840.

THE FINE PRINT

Due to the nature of antique & vintage jewelry, many diamond and gemstone weights are calculated by measurements, not removed. Actual weights are noted in the item's description. Grading of diamonds and gemstones may vary slightly when removed.

HONESTY

Being as honest as possible about the items we represent for sale is our ultimate goal! Our pricing is industry recognized as fair and equitable with value as the byword.

Measurements: 1/2 of an inch (1.2 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 3/16 of an inch (0.4 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 2.7 grams (1.8 dwt).

Ring Size: US 8-3/4 (UK R; Int. Dia. 18.75; Euro 59 mm; Japan just over 17). We do not recommend sizing up this ring without pattern interruption. Can be sized down with some pattern loss. Ring sizing information.

Condition: Very good for its age; 3 emeralds with chips visible with magnification; softening of pattern detail to shank, particularly at back – this is original shank – lovely to find for a ring of this age.

Origin: Possibly English.

Note: Stones have not been removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting. All diamond and gemstone weights have been approximated by measurement and formula and may vary from actual weights.
