Story

This jewel will tickle your fancy with its elegance and whimsy. Head ornaments were rather popular during this era and some brooches were created to be versatile - worn in the hair as an aigrette or on the bodice or as a pendant in the traditional style.

Quite stately with impressive proportions, this Victorian pendant brooch of silver-topped 14k rose gold is magnificent. Designed in the form of a stylized three plumed feather, the festive jewel overflows with one hundred ninety-one (191) marvelous old mine cut diamonds (with an estimated total weight of 5.25 carats) set in open back silver mounts. The reverse reveals the rose gold “structural foundation” of the brooch with its evocative arch displaying a true sense of naturalism. In addition, please note the removable pendant brooch fittings of rose gold.

Date: Circa 1880.
