Story

The pyrope garnet is a real standout with its dark blood red color that rivals the ruby. At times referred to as the Bohemian garnet of Victorian fame, the pyrope has a fire and intensity that catches the eye and warms the soul. This example from 1935 displays its hue in an oval faceted natural stone of an impressive estimated 4.10 carats. The luscious red gem is prong set in a marvelous 10k white gold mount with a slightly scalloped border. A gallery of open work and filigree furnishes the perfect foil for the intensely colored fiery gem.

Date; Circa 1935.
