Story

The final years of the 18th century found the last gasps of its grandeur realized in the form of glittering paste buttons. In the early 19th century these adornments were the relegated to formal dress occasions but soon fell from favor as the century progressed.

Resurrected and revitalized from the bottom of a teak box, these superb paste buttons have been re-invented as marvelous earrings. Set in silver with the typical closed back, a twirling pinwheel form mesmerizes with sparkling and white pastes set in typical fashion in silver with closed backs. From the floral cluster interior with its wonderful old mine cut paste center to the open work curves on he perimeter, these earrings will thrill.

The Three Graces has one additional pair of these Georgian paste button earrings available.

Date: Circa 1840.
