Story

Filigree of 14k yellow gold creates an exceptional setting for an estimated .15 carat old European cut diamond (H-I color; SI1 clarity) Art Deco engagement ring. The solitaire stone is set in a double octagonal mount of 14k white gold giving a visual impression of a diamond larger than its actual carat weight. Lovely accents bordering the edges of the interior octagon create additional surface for light to reflect from the centered diamond. The open work under gallery features a half flower motif against a trellis of vines. A traditional wheat sheaf pattern appoints the sides which segue into a smooth golden shank.

Date: Circa 1930.
