Story

Signet rings have graced the fingers of humankind for centuries upon centuries. Whether to affix one’s personal mark upon a papyrus or to emboss the sealing wax of a love letter, the signet ring has played a role in cultures all over the world.

Rendered of 835 silver*, a rectangular matrix with cut-off corners boldly displays the hand engraved initials of “C M T” against a smooth background of silver. Sections of each letter overlap with parts of the others in a monogram. Flourishes and scrolling designs appoint each side and shoulder of the august circa 1880 ring in an ornate play of visual movement.
