Story

The design of mid 20th century jewelry may be categorized as either mainstream, such as the houses of Tiffany and Van Cleef & Arpels or what may be termed “jewelry as wearable art”. The traditionalists returned to platinum and incorporated stones such as amethysts, citrine and aquamarine as the main gem to make their grand statement.

This particular example takes its cue from the school of fine jewelry with its mix of precious and semi-precious stones. With a full bodied profile and a platinum setting, two square cut pale blue aquamarines of an estimated 2.75 carat total make their presence known among a diamond-encrusted backdrop. With a total estimated 1.25 carats fourteen (14) single cut, four (4) emerald cut and eight (8) baguettes of varying size dazzle the eye with brilliance, shine and out and out pizzazz.
