Better than changing water into wine, these circa 1967 Russian rock crystal earrings have been transformed from cufflinks. Spectacular as drops, a simple vermeil (silver gilt) bezel encloses the rectangular faceted stone. Subtlety and shimmer arise from their sleek profile and facet structure. Perfect for day or evening.

Measurements: 7/8 of an inch (2.1 cm) in length including ear wire; 1/2 of an inch (1.3 cm) without by 3/8 of an inch (0.9 cm) in width. Weight of 3.9 grams (2.5 dwt) for the pair.

Hallmarks: Russian hallmarks for 1967 and 875 silver (Sterling is 925 out of 1000 parts).

Condition: Excellent; light wear and a bit of tiny surface wear to rock crystal facets and edges visible with a loupe. Formerly cufflinks, those fittings were removed and modern 14k yellow gold ear wires have been added.

Date & Origin: Circa 1967 and is Russian in origin.
