Story

Nature translated to precious gems and metals...a common theme in jewelry history. A veritable feather yet made by man of the finest topaz, a few rock crystal gems and silver topped 14k rose gold…this tiara hair comb can be worn atop the head or at the back – its fully hinged comb allows for a variety of hair styles. Debutante, bride or an everyday countess would be impeccably attired with this jewel in her coif.

Boxed in what appears to be the original, this treasure was retailed by the famous Carlo Giuliano in London. While not signed, it was evidently retailed in their London shop.

The largest of white topaz measures over 8 mm; the smaller in the top spray about 3 mm. There are a total of fifty-four gems and rock crystal all set in silver topped gold with crimped rub over mounts along the bottom scroll and claw set for the spray. A natural tortoise shell seven pronged comb is hinged in solid gold.

HONESTY

Being as honest as possible about the items we represent for sale is our ultimate goal! Our pricing is industry recognized as fair and equitable with value as the byword.

Note 2: Giulliano was one of the premier jewelers of the 19th century and was most famous for the exquisite archeological jewelry; those pieces now command huge prices at auction. See Sotheby's auction of December 2006.
