Story

Highly sought after and coveted, the natural pearl remains the pinnacle of the pearl world. No large bead lies beneath its lustrous sheen, as the pearl is all nacre except for a small bit of sand, shell or other irritant for which the glorious oyster to build upon. Before the remarkable Mr. Mikimoto patented his process for the cultured pearl back at the turn of the 20th century, the world knew only natural pearls (and those of glass and other imitations).

This 6.8 mm by 6.3 mm pearl sits at center of two old European cut diamonds. Each diamond weighs approximately .40 carats, one a J-K color, the other a K-L color, both with VS2-SI1. Fit for a connoisseur, the antique platinum mount is studded with tiny rose and single cut diamonds, thirty-eight (38) in all for a total estimated diamond weight of 1.1 carats. Circa 1920, the classic three stone configuration and the remarkable gems make this ring wearable for a lifetime.

Comes with GIA certificate for the pearl (see more details).

Date: Circa 1920.
