Story

This superb museum quality cameo depicts a head and shoulders right profile of a woman, possibly that of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowering plants. The hard stone agate cameo is oval in shape and the delicate and detailed image of subtle shades of peach and light almond is carved in relief with a contrasting background of cinnamon. Superbly three dimensional, the carving rises up at the highest about 1 cm from the background.

Her bodice is covered in gossamer drapery reminiscent of how the ancients typically displayed Flora in light clothing and crowned with blossoms. The cameo is set within a 14k twisted yellow gold wire bezel and framed with a surrounded of forty (40) creamy white to white pearls each 4 mm or larger.
