Succumb to the lure of a Colombian emerald and diamond ring.
Rectangular cut, its hue is medium green, with bright highlights. It also shows off undertones of blue, a trait so desired in these rare gemstones.
Better still, it is what is known in the trade as "eye clean". Meaning that there are no large, visible, or distracting internal inclusions marring its beauty. All that you see is color and sheen (unless you look with powerful magnification).
Its companions in glitter are a mix of antique diamonds in two borders, one nested within the other.
The top is silver (the only precious white metal at the time is was created), and the remainder of the graceful setting is 18k yellow gold.
So cleverly constructed and hidden to all but those with the expertise, the top silver area was fashioned around 1890. It has been blended and placed atop a vintage Italian classic gold ring from the 1840s.
