One vibrant ruby and two diamonds reside below the surface of the gold. This technique is referred to as gypsy setting.
Stones are placed below the top surface of the gold, sometimes in a square, diamond shape, or even with a star radiating outward.
It is a characteristically British style ring produced from around 1890 to around 1930. Today the style so popular that it was reintroduced numerous times.
This one is authentic from around 1900 and the hallmark of 18ct reveals that. That mark is no longer used and was only used for a few decades.
