In 18k gold, and created around 1900, this exquisite cat or feline motif brooch has been realistically modeled with stripes or wavy fur, a diamond dotted collar and vivid two ruby eyes.
Sauntering along, facing left, the cat's tail is curved and pert.
Did you know that antique cat motif brooches are few and far between. At least the lovely ones, and those fashioned prior to about the 1930s. Dog brooches, yes, but cats, so hard to come by. No cat carrier required (except your lapel).
