Awash with flowers, both real and jeweled, the Georgian era obsessed over blooms, poesies, sprigs, and sprays of these most wondrous of gifts from nature.

Starting well before with tulip mania in Europe and the UK all the way back to around 1600, flowers as inspiration for jewelry fueled a "trend" that still lasts today.
If women did not wear real poesies and sprays of actual flowers, they were donning them in silver, gold and gems. Placed in the hair, on the fingers, as corsages, study early jewelry and voila "... or should we say violet, there are often examples of jewelry based on floral motifs.
Here is a splendid example from circa 1820 and it takes the form of a trembler. Often this type of construction is termed, en tremblant for the way it trembles or moves slightly as you do.
This brooch was created 14k gold and citrines is constructed so that the gold wires are fine enough to move constantly as you do, yet sturdy enough to have lasted over 200 years.
Showy and grand in scale, this was likely converted from an aigrette for the hair or for a devant de corsage, for the front of a bodice.
Seventeen oval faceted citrines total 18 carats of warm, bright golden tones with superior sparkle. Each is set open backed in a gold detailed crown gallery.
Remarkable detail characterizes the leaves. Each is veined and the edges even possess tiny ridges just as in the real thing would. A cluster of more leaves holds the spray together.
Each leaf or flower can be moved (with care) and the effect when worn is ethereal and feminine.
