Georgian Gold Perfume Scent Bottle & Locket in Box

A rare, double-dream comes down to us in remarkable condition.
Dating from around 1820, it is both a gold perfume scent bottle and shows off a separate a locket compartment.
In 15k yellow and rose gold, it is quintessentially Georgian in technique and form. Form being a miniature, wearable scent bottle - a specialty of the 18th and 19th centuries.
The English often produced this type of dimpled, textured gold. Unusually, it is found during the later Georgian period, and never before or since.
Cannetille twisted or braided wire forms a cage of openwork edged with a pie crust gold border. A rose gold bezel and frame appear on both sides, one side hinged to allow access to the interior. Both sides are covered with convex glass.
In fact, front and back are near identical except for the hinge accessible on one.
At the top, a cap of gold is also hinged for the perfume area. Delicate chains suspend the whole and both a braided ring and a hook rest at the top. Likely the hook was utilized for dangling from a chatelaine.
It is housed in an antique, but re-fitted brown paper push button box, with cream silk and velvet interior.
