Georgian Antique Bow Gold Earrings
Perhaps one of the more versatile pieces in any jewelry wardrobe is the pendant earring known as Day Night. The pendant is directly removed from the back to front ear wire. The top may be worn separately for a more subtle and less formal or daytime look. For the more elegant evening occasions the drop is added.
Light as a feather, these captivating 12k gold earrings, hand engraved and chased, are composed of three elements—a ribbon, a bow, and a tassel drop. The surmount consists of a band of stylized ribbon which then descends in a flowing cascade to form the bow. The pendant concludes its symmetry with a freely moving tassel.
Measuring 3-1/6 inches in length by 1 inch in width (7.8 cm long by 2.5 cm wide).
Condition is very good; minor restoration at connection points of tassel drops and top of lower drops. All original including the ear fittings.
Continental in origin; dated circa 1830.
