Geometrics in an Art Deco Diamond Ring
A spectacular pierced setting of 18k white gold plays host to a breathless round brilliant cut diamond of an actual .79 carats with G color and SI1 clarity. A pair of triangular shaped natural sapphires sets off the shoulders of this period Art Deco finger ring. Both the mount and gallery display lovely open work with a series of gentle curves and linear patterns worthy to apply the label of fine craftsmanship. Sweeping shoulders transition to a narrow traditional shank.
Please note that a European Gemological Laboratory (EGL) certificate for the main diamond which accompanies the ring was obtained before the diamond was lightly polished to remove a tiny edge chip. The actual weight is .79 carats and not .87 as stated on the certificate. Color and clarity do not change.
Date: Circa 1925.
Measurements: 3/8 of an inch (1.0 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 1/4 of an inch (0.6 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 2.3 grams (1.5 dwt).
Ring Size: US 6 (UK L-1/2; Euro or Int. Circum. 51.8 mm; Int. Dia. 16.5 mm; Japan 11) and easily can be sized to fit most. Ring sizing information.
Condition: Excellent; sapphires have been replaced, evidence of a former resizing visible with a loupe and parts of the shank test 14k gold.
