The Elusive Black Pearl & Diamond Dome Ring
Ah, the quest for the elusive cultured black pearl has finally come to a happy conclusion. Ensconced at the apex of a high dome of platinum pleats rests a beautiful 7.5 mm natural black saltwater pearl with hues of teal green and peacock blue. The icy white dome is comprised of sixteen (16) scalloped edge pleats set with four (4) single cut diamonds each. Bifurcated shoulders set with an additional twenty (20) single cuts on the sides, segue from the ribbed umbrella-like under gallery of platinum. In all, eighty-four (84) diamonds glitter with a total estimated diamond weight of 1.13 carats.
Date: Circa mid 20th century.
Measurements: 3/4 of an inch (1.9 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 5/8 of an inch (1.4 cm) high off the finger. Weight of 10.0 grams (6.5 dwt).
Ring Size: US 6 (UK L-1/2; Euro or Int. Circum. 51.8 mm; Japan 11; Int. Dia. 16.5) and easily can be sized to fit most. Ring sizing information.
Hallmarks: Unidentified worn maker's mark.
Condition: Excellent; a bit of light nacre loss to pearl only visible with magnification.
