20th C. Yellow Sapphire & Diamond Ring
Although similar in color, the difference between a citrine and a yellow sapphire is instantly recognizable when viewing the gems in person. The yellow sapphire literally radiates with brilliance and a lustrous sheen. In addition the sapphire immediately has a markedly discernible clear and fine presence.
This mid to later 20th century ring of 14k yellow gold splendidly shows off the desirable characteristics of a gorgeous oval cut faceted yellow sapphire of an estimated 1.6 carats. Simply prong set, the gloriously golden gem is enhanced on each side by a trefoil of brilliant cut diamonds (six in all) for a total estimated diamond weight of just shy of .10 carats. An open work linear mount handsomely sets off the finger ring.
Date: Mid to later 20th century.
Measurements: 3/8 of an inch (0.8 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 1/4 of an inch (0.6 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 2.2 grams (1.4 dwt).
Ring Size: US 6-1/2 (UK M-1/2; Euro or Int. Circum. 53.8 mm; Japan 13; Int. Dia. 17) and easily can be sized to fit most. Ring sizing information.
