Antique Imperial Topaz Diamond Cluster Ring
We typically associated a golden or amber tone to the topaz. When the gem displays a luscious pink peach hue, it is awarded the designation of imperial. Such is the title give to the estimated 2 carat oval faceted topaz prong set in this gorgeous Victorian cluster ring of silver-topped 14k yellow gold. Befitting her royal status, the natural topaz is embraced by a surround of one (1) old European cut and eleven (11) old mine cut diamonds.
Each shoulder is accented with an additional old mine cut diamond which brings the total estimated diamond weight of the fourteen (14) diamonds to 1.1 carats (J-K color range; SI1-2 clarity). The under gallery of 14k yellow gold, an impressive open work design of sensuous curves provides the perfect foundation for the substantial combined gem carat weight.
Date: Circa 1880.
Measurements: 11/16 of an inch (1.8 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 1/4 of an inch (0.6 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 4.2 grams (2.7 dwt).
Ring Size: US 4-3/4 (UK J; Euro or Int. Circum. 48.7 mm; Japan 10; Int. Dia. 15.5) and easily can be sized to fit most. Ring sizing information.
Condition: Excellent; one diamond replaced with an old European diamond visible with magnification.
