This is a marvelous example of the ingenuity and craftsmanship which distinguishes Georgian jewelry. The ubiquitous flower cluster motif is displayed employing a natural turquoise cut en cabochon set in a crimped ridged collet and a surround of seven (7) natural half seed pearls (untested but assumed natural due to age and examination).
Coiling snakes undulate within split shoulders appointed with leaf forms segue into flowerhead forms and conclude with a slightly tapered shank. To the reverse a locket back compartment, now deficient of rim and glass cover is evident. All in a glorious antique 18k yellow gold mount.
Date: Circa 1830.
Measurements: 5/8 of an inch (1.1 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 5/16 of an inch (0.6 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 2.5 grams (1.6 dwt).
Ring Size: US 6 1/2 (UK M 1/2; Euro or Int. Circum. 53.1 mm; Int. Dia. 16.9 mm; Japan 13) and can be easily sized to fit most. Ring sizing information.
