19th C. Dutch Silver Mandolin Perfume Bottle
A realistic depiction of a stringed musical instrument, a mandolin is constructed of sterling silver. Although the instrument appears ready to have a tune plucked from its strings it is in actuality a superb perfume flacon. The very top of the headstock is hinged and opens to reveal the mouth of the bottle. It has Netherlands hallmarks in several places for sterling silver.
