Antique Rock Crystal & Topaz Earrings
The expression “a marriage made in heaven” pretty much sums up this pair of earrings. Suspended from a white claw set topaz surmount (visually the size of a .70 carat diamond) is a multi-faceted orb of rock crystal. Topped with a “crown” of 14k yellow gold and approximately 13 mm in diameter, the rock crystal drop is articulated with free play in conjunction with any subtle movement.
Date: Circa 1900.
Measurements: 1-1/4 inches (3.1 cm) in length including ear wire by 1/2 of an inch (1.3 cm) at the widest. Weight of 8.5 grams (5.4 dwt) for the pair.
Condition: Excellent; later 14k yellow gold ear wires; tops are a marriage to bottom rock crystal drop.
