Classic Amethyst & Diamond Cluster Earrings
A light lilac hued amethyst surmount of about .75 carats enclosed in an 18k yellow gold coronet mount suspends a picture perfect large oval faceted amethyst of a most gracious 6 carats. In a precise counterpoint and framing the luscious gem is a surround of twenty-three (23) rose cut diamonds with a total estimated diamond weight of .23 carats. The diamonds are set in 18k white gold. Later date modern ear wires of 14k yellow gold finish the cluster earrings.
Date: Circa mid 20th century.
Measurements: 1-3/8 inches (3.5 cm) in length including ear wire by 11/16 of an inch (1.7 cm) at the widest. Weight of 9.1 grams (5.9 dwt) for the pair.
Condition: Very good; later modern 14k yellow gold ear wires.
