Moonlight Sonata: Edwardian Pendant Earrings
Moonstones and diamonds in an Edwardian earring create a lyric melody for your ears. A simple surmount embraces an oval blue moonstone with a coronet setting of 14k yellow gold. The surmount suspends an arresting articulated pendant drop similar in design with a tad more complexity in the form of a cluster. The drop features another ethereal blue moonstone with a border of nine (9) single cut diamonds set within a yellow gold coronet mount. Each earring has an estimated 2.25 carats of moonstone weight and .18 carats of total diamond weight.
Date: Circa 1915.
Measurements: 1-1/8 inches (2.9 cm) in length including ear wire, 7/8 of an inch (2.2 cm) without by 7/16 of an inch (1.1 cm) at the widest. Weight of 4.6 grams (2.9 dwt) for the pair.
Condition: Excellent; later 14k yellow gold ear wires.
