Treasure for King - Gold & Lapis Bracelet
Rich as a treasure from a royal horde, this archeological revival bracelet is a masterwork of artistry and design. Twenty four (24) oval and round cabochons of lapis lazuli are focal elements for the panels with the most delicate of natural pearls forming rosettes. Granulation and wire work make for an ornate and intricate surface, elaborate without being showy or excessive. Fine rolo chains encircle the wrist with grandeur.
All of 18k yellow gold, references to ancient jewelry with its use of lapis, fine chains and surface detail place this clearly in the mid to slightly later 19th century.
Date: Circa 1860 - 1870
Measurements: 7-3/16 inches (18.2 cm) in length by 1-1/16 inches (2.7 cm) in width. Weight of 32.9 grams (21.2 dwt).
Hallmarks: "18k".
Condition: Excellent. Safety clasp is replaced with a later 14k gold clasp.
