Wild Orchid Wonder: No Heat Purple-Pink Sapphire Ring
Orchids are some of the most spectacular flowering plants in existence. Those grown across Mediterranean Europe, West Asia and northwest Africa are known as “Orchis mascula” or the early purple orchid.
Such is the color of this un-heat treated, natural purple pink fancy sapphire. With its spectacular shape and outstanding coloration, this 2.5 carat gem is simply mounted in a prong set 18k yellow gold top. Flanking the sapphire are six (6) baguette diamonds set within a gently tapered platinum shank. Each baguette perfectly complements the configuration of the sapphire. In addition, the platinum shoulders are embellished with four (4) brilliant cut diamonds with a total estimated diamond weight of .35 carats (G-H color; VS2 clarity)
This ring is accompanied by an American Gemological Testing Center (AGTA) certificate stating that the sapphire exhibits no indication of heat treatment.
Date: Modern estate.
Measurements: 3/8 of an inch (1 cm) in length north to south on the hand and rises 1/4 of an inch (0.6 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 4.5 grams (2.9 dwt).
