Although the girandole earring was initially worn in the mid 1600s, its popularity surged during the 18th century’s “age of elegance”. Typically a three-element design, the configuration and shape of the components have been modified over the centuries with the three suspended drops a constant.

Measurements: 2-1/8 inches (5.5 cm) in length including ear wire and 1-7/8 inches without wire by 7/8 of an inch (1.9 cm) at the widest. Diameter for top round pastes is 7/16 of an inch (1.1 cm). Weighs 21.8 grams (14.0 dwt) for the pair.
