Antique Natural Pearl Diamond Earrings
Listen to the ocean's lull as the ceaseless tidal forces play their roles. Beneath the crests, are a few of nature's more humble creates, oysters. Imperceptibly underneath their bristly exteriors, they create one of the jewelry world's most coveted gems, a pearl.
In silver topped 10k yellow gold, these Edwardian delicacies are accented with old European, old mine and rose cut diamonds. At the bottom sways a natural pearl (certified). Each measures 7.83 x 6.25 mm and 7.66 x 6.48 mm. Four more petite natural seed pearls make up the linear center. Two old mine cut diamonds one on each top, and at the cap of the bottom pearl, an old mine cut diamond with a rose cut diamond at each top. Total estimated diamond weight for the pair is .40 carats. Circa, 1900 the Edwardian period was known for its use of a neutral palette, favoring pearls, diamonds and white metals. Delicacy in all manor of jewels was the order of the day.
Measurements: Length is 1 11/16 inches by 5/16 of an inch at the widest. (4.2 cm by .9 cm). Weight together of 3.4 grams (2.2 dwt).
Condition: Very good with later ear wires of 10k. The two top old mine cut diamonds appear to be replaced.
