Victorian Rock Crystal & Turquoise Cross Pendant
This oval 18k yellow gold pendant with closed locket back incorporates several of the characteristic elements of the late Victorian period. The front is centered with a magical cabochon of clear rock crystal set within a simple gold bezel. The rock crystal dome, set with natural Persian turquoise cut en cabochon and placed within an 18k yellow gold cruciform design is bounded with a frame of natural but untested white lustrous half pearls. The underside displays the closed locket back with "shadow image" of cross motif. A jeweler can open locket if so desired.
Measurements: 1-1/2 inches (3.7 cm) in total length including added top "O" fitting and 1-1/4 inches (3.4 cm) without by 15/16 of an inch (2.4 cm) by 1/2 of an inch (1.2 cm) in depth. Weight of 10.7 grams (6.9 dwt).
Condition: Very good; a bit of dust under crystal which can be cleaned by a jeweler.
