Edwardian Diamonds & Gold Earrings
From 14k yellow gold arises an elegant and sophisticated Edwardian period earring. An open gold work dome takes on the form of a multiple petal flower set with an old mine cut diamond center of approximately .50 carats (K-L color; SI clarity). Golden foliage accents the perimeter and a graceful shepherd’s hook fitting drops the earring just below the lobe for a modified pendant look. The pair has a total estimated diamond weight of 1.0 carats.
Measurements: 3/4 of an inch (2 cm) in length including ear wire and 3/8 of an inch (1.1 cm) without by 3/8 of an inch (1.1 cm) in width. Weight of 2.3 grams (1.5 dwt) for the pair.
Condition: Excellent
Date: Circa 1880 – 1890.
Note: All diamond weights, color grades and clarity are approximate as the stones have not been removed in order to preserve the integrity of the setting.
