The fashion of carving into gems and insetting tiny diamonds surfaced in the mid 19th century and lasted for some decades. Here an amethyst has been inset with gold and five tiny rose cut diamonds in a floral motif. The amethyst itself measures 12 mm by 13 mm and is a luscious medium deep purple. The mount of 14k yellow gold has a tripartite (3 part) sides and plain back.
Measurements: Length of 9/16 of an inch (1.4 cm) north to south on the finger by 7/16 of an inch (1.1 cm) at the widest and rises 1/4 of an inch (0.7 cm) high off the finger. Weight of 6.1 grams (3.9 dwt).
Ring Size: US 7-1/4 (UK O; Euro 17.5, 55.5 mm) and can be easily sized. Ring sizing information.
