A Little Gem - Multi Colored Brooch & Pendant
This is with no doubt a little gem of a brooch. Of course no pun intended, The Three Graces remarks. Scrolls and embraces of yellow gold of 14k clasp and cradle a wealth of spectral colored gems – two blue sapphires, a ruby, garnet, one peridot, a citrine, a tourmaline of green and the coveted green grossular garnet – all set closed back in the characteristic Georgian manner.
The reverse reveals the pin, tube hinge and clasp as well as an “O” ring added to an anchored loop (previously used for a safety fitting) to enable the brooch to be versatile and worn as a pendant in the same longer in the horizontal orientation as the brooch.
