Large Victorian Bohemian Garnet Pendant
The Three Graces takes great pleasure in being able to present what we believe to be by far the best Bohemian garnet pendant we have come across in all our travels. Everything that Victorian jewelry is about – big, bold and ornate – is surpassed by this over-the-top pendant. From the garnet encrusted surmount to the festoon of swag-like garnet florets, this 19th century brooch speaks romantic.
Articulated and composed of three major parts, two of these forms have a dome configuration built with tier upon tier of pinched collet set rose cut faceted garnets of a variety of sizes. The smaller element is a round floral cluster from which suspends a much larger oval medallion. A trio of tear shaped drops harmonizes to balance the festoon drape of garnets. Four more articulated and swaying elements embellish to bottom, three dangles and one garland shaped drop. The intensely rich and brilliant red color garnets are all set within rose gold over silver mounts.
