Golden Leaves in an Art Nouveau Moonstone Ring
In all its 14k golden yellow glory, this turn-of-the 20th-century ring personifies the extreme sensitivity to nature that the artists of Art Nouveau were able to translate to stone and metal.
A perfect oval cabochon moonstone of translucent white lies within an elaborately modeled botanical mount. Eleven overlapping leaves of the oak tree are realistically rendered in 14k yellow gold. The graceful foliate motif displays the delicacy of nature in its gracious form replete with texture and veining. Attention to detail is apparent with the use of the side leaf stems to form the upper and lower ridges of the recessed shank.
