Antique Amethyst Filigree Ring
The amethyst gem has such a magnificent regal color that evokes untold waves of emotion. Quite lovely and deep in color, an oval faceted amethyst estimated to be just shy of 11 carats (18 x 14 mm) has been set into an 18k yellow gold mount with a high bezel decorated with crimping. Beneath is a twisted rope surround characteristic of the time, that rests upon a filigree border with 18k yellow gold swirls and punctuated by yellow gold orbs. The split or bifurcated shoulders conclude with a non-tapering band accented with the popular twist rope pattern design.
