Decidedly Deco in a Contemporary Diamond Ring
It's hard to imagine that this modern ring is not a period Art Deco piece. Echoing the white on white theme that characterized the jewels of the later part of the 1930s, 18k white gold is the luxurious indulgence that accommodates a .57 carat old European cut diamond with H-I color and VS1-2 clarity. The octagonal mount with its delicate accents is the perfect stage for the bead set gem and creates a visual presence of a larger diamond than its actual carat weight dictates.
Gorgeous pierced and open white gold work patterns embellish the entire top surface as well as the under gallery. The gently tapering shoulders display a pierced triangular “cartouche” of foliate design as they conclude into a silken white gold band. A dramatic period look within the modern budget.
