Enchanting Moonstone Festoon Necklace
A coterie of entrancing ethereal blue moonstones sensuously envelopes the neck with the most poetic and feminine style of necklace—that of the festoon necklace. Quite in fashion from the turn of the 19th century until about 1915, the structure of this type of necklace easily lent itself to the embodiment of the design concepts of the golden age of the Belle Époque.
Graduated in size and varying in shape from round to oval, magical moonstone gems follow the contours of the neck in subtle drapes and swags. Joined by links of 12k yellow gold, a festoon of horizontally set oval moonstones closely caresses the neck. Between each gem small round moonstone orbs are suspended to create a spectacular and dramatic effect.
At the curve of the lowest festoon, more drops create an ornate drape of oval stones which flanks both sides of the central phalanx of large oval gems with small round pendants. From every moonstone intense flashes of blue lightning send out bolts of color which bring a regal, yet softening feminine glow to the contours of the décolletage.
