Liquid Fire - Georgian Gold Garnet Earrings
Fiery, warm glowing almandine garnets are set into a halo of intricate 18k yellow gold cannetille work. The Georgian lady had a penchant for wearing garnets in the daytime, and the favorite was the slightly purplish, rich almandine garnet. During the decade between 1830 and 1840, an elongated teardrop shape took hold, complimenting the upswept hair and lower necklines of the day. This pair of early 19th century garnet earrings is superb and glorious, worn either day or night.
