Joined as One - 17th. C. Silver Fede Hand Ring
Two hands clasped - a symbol dating back to antiquity. Harmony, peace, the joining of two - all lie within its symbolism. Often referred to as a fede ring, this is of silver and it very presence leads us tangibly back into the mists of time. Imagine the hands that have held this, the live events it has witnessed, the events that have surrounded it.
Measurements: The width of the band ranges from 1/4 of an inch (0.5 cm) to 1/8 of an inch (0.3 cm). It rises 1/16 of an inch (0.2 cm) from the finger. This antique ring has a weight of 2.8 grams (1.8 dwt).
Ring Size: US 9-3/4 (UK T; Euro 19-1/2, 61.5 mm) can easily be sized to accommodate any hand.
Condition: Good; medium to heavy wear, the exterior and interior of the ring showing light pitting and wear. Possibly an excavated ring. Loss of detail at the sides of the cuff as commensurate with age and use.
